The Tricks to Achieving Luminous, Healthy Hair

No matter the season, our hair endures the harsh effects of Mother Nature as well as the daily damages from everyday heat styling. Here are some tips and tricks to prevent damage and keep your hair happy and healthy.

Vitamins- Taking a daily vitamin as well as, vitamins specified for hair, will provide your body with the essential nutrients it needs for hair production and protection. Multi-vitamins are recommended; because they have everything your body needs to stay healthy.

Skip the Heat- Heat styling is the number one reason for breakage to our hair. Give your hair a little TLC and skip the blow dryer, curling irons, and straighteners. The same great style can be achieved by air drying for a more natural look or using braids to add wave.

Heat Protectants- We can’t always skip the heat, but we can still protect our hair from breakage. By using serums and styling lotions with heat protectant in them, we are coating the follicle and protecting it from any direct heat source. These products are readily available within budget at any drugstore.

Deep Conditioning Hair

Deep Conditioning- Our hair is constantly dried out by over washing, over processing, and over styling, not to mention sun and wind damage. Deep conditioners are recommended twice a month and can even be made from products found at home (mayonnaise, eggs, honey, olive oil, etc). Once applied these should be left on for at least 15 minutes, preferably with a shower cap. The end result should leave you with silky, touchable hair.
