Hair Styles Weave & Extensions – Do Men Hate Them?

Hair Styles Weave & Extensions

Pop Star Cheryl Cole has came under fire over revelations that she wore hair extensions to promote a shampoo product for L’Oreal Cosmetics. Cole appeared in a series of TV advertisements as the face of the Elvive  haircare products. In the commercial she sported long, shiny locks and promising consumers the shampoo makes “hair feels stronger, full of life, replenished with a healthy shine”.

But the company has been flooded with complaints after Cole`s stylist at the time reported that the star`s amazing tresses are not all her own as she was wearing extensions in the ads.

African American women are often the brunt of jokes for their weaves and wigs. TV Gossip Host Wendy Williams has embraced it and opens her show regularly with a bit where she slips her show notes folded on a small piece of paper out from under wig du jour!

Gossip columns have reported Mandy Moore, Cameron Diaz, Kate Beckinsale and yes, Angelina Jolie wearing extensions or a weave at one time or the other. It seems a lot of folks will buy the locks they desire if nature is not being kind.

So, what about the weave extension debate that rouses ire from some style praetorian? Women seem to have become very comfortable purchasing, augmenting or adding some form of prosthetic for beauty enhancement.

However male readers seem to take a different approach.

The texture feels like crap and you can just tell that it is not the woman’s hair.   Jason C., Malibu, CA

You don’t know what is in the offering anymore; You come home with a voluptuous blonde with deep eyes and you wake up to a short haired, flat-chest and bottom woman with light eyes.  Who knows what’s real, anymore.    Marcus L., Los Feliz, CA

Women seem to be fixated all too much on some ideal of beauty, that frankly cost too damn much.  What happened to the liberation movement?    Aaron K.  Dallas TX

If your hot your hot, if you’re not you’re not…but hey don’t hate a girl for trying.   Kim L.  Costa Mesa, CA
