Making the Perfect Homemade Facial Scrub

Facial scrubs work wonders for our skin, they improve our complexion, cut down on black heads, slough off dead skin cells, and they give our skin a glowing, youthful appearance. Unfortunately, so many of us do not use a weekly facial scrub and even if we are, we are not using the proper one for our skin type. Below I have listed 4 homemade recipes of facial scrubs to fit almost any skin type.

Homemade scrub for face

1) If you suffer from oily skin and need exfoliation this is a great recipe:

1 tbsp Coconut                    ½ cup Sugar                   ½ Lemon                  1 tbsp Honey

2) This recipe will balance your combination skin:

2 tbsp Rosewater                   1 tbsp yogurt                        1 tbsp Honey

3) This recipe will help your dry skin during those harsh seasonal months:

1 tsp powdered milk            1 tbsp Honey              1 tsp aloe vera gel         2 drops essential oil

4) For those of us who tend to have sensitive skin, this recipe will exfoliate more gently:

1 Banana                    1 tsp Oatmeal                      1 tsp Honey

For each recipe, mix ingredients together and apply to a clean, fresh face. Gently apply/ massage the scrub into the skin and let set for about ten minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and then moisturize as usual.

Face scrubs should be done at least once a week to keep your skin looking healthy and feeling smooth.
